Annual Meeting Held

Over the years The Friends of the Little Spokane River Valley organization has held its annual meeting at the Wandermere Golf Course clubhouse. Fabulous dinners and desserts, neat door prizes, cool silent-auction items, interesting and diverse speakers, camaraderie, and elections of directors comprised these much anticipated meetings.
This year’s annual meeting, held on April 9th, had a different venue, format and flavor: homemade cookies, soft drinks, and election officials greeted attendees as they entered the door of United Covenant Methodist Church. (The board is grateful for the generosity of the church in sharing its sanctuary and foyer for this event – and for the many years it has allowed us to hold our planning sessions in its meeting rooms). Our invited speaker, Professor emeritus, Dr. Gene Kiver gave a very interesting presentation on his specialty, the multiple ice age floods and their impact on our LSR valley.
Enough members voted, either in person, or by proxy, to fulfill the needed quorum, and election of all nominees for director positions listed on the ballot was unanimous.
Next year’s dinner/auction and annual meeting will most likely revert to the Wandermere Clubhouse – and it will be even bigger and better than ever because of the anticipated influx of volunteers who will help put on this annual event!
