Success! 2024 FLSRV Spring Clean-Up

The Friends of the Little Spokane River Valley held their annual Spring Clean-up on Saturday, April 20th, 2024. This year's event was made even better with wonderful weather that brought us more volunteers than usual.

Long-time organizers, Lance Pounder and Michael Kennedy, orchestrated trash pickers showing up in all shapes and sizes.  Groups from Scout Troop #218 and West Valley High School joined local river-valley residents in the litter-collecting campaign.  Donned in bright neon vests, volunteers picked up garbage along Little Spokane Drive and its many arterials that stretch through the valley.

Hungry workers were rewarded with a chili feed and cookies at the beautiful Haggin Farm, provided by Ty Brown, Lindell Haggin, and Dave Maccini. In coordination with the WA State Department of Corrections, the hundreds of pounds of trash collected were hauled off to the transfer station.

The contributions of the many volunteers not only spiff up the neighborhood, but build a sense of community service that we can all be thankful for.

Thank you to everyone that supported this spring's clean-up!
